Author, Founder of Miss Liz Tea Parties, and Change-maker
A survivor of abuse and grief, Liz is making change in the world by creating magical events where people come together to share their stories of trauma and triumph. Liz is the founder of the “Tea Bag Story Award” and “Miss Liz’s Tea Parties”. Since 2015, these events have grown exponentially and raised over $5000 for women’s transition houses, sexual abuse services, Parkinson’s resources, and bereaved families’ services. Liz also hosts an annual Christmas Open House for single moms, their children, and the homeless. She is a member of the Community Action Network Against Abuse.
Liz’s has been a contributing author in Canada 150 Stories, and the first Sacred Hearts Rising anthology. Writing has been part of her healing journey.
In 2011 Liz was recognized as a living example of never giving up when she was presented with the Hope and Resilience Award from CMHA.
Liz is committed to breaking the stigma around mental health issues.
